During the height of weather events LMT, Alburtis and Macungie Social media are updated with important news and information. And as always it's a two way street. Residents can post questions, concerns and updates throughout a storm.
10 ways Facebook can help local government better serve their constituents
As a Commissioner in Lower Mac I value the feedback I get from social media. Folks can of course always call up or come to a meeting but people seem to like the convenience of social media. I often correspond with residents on FB IM, posts on my wall or the township's wall. This past election 3 Commissioners were elected under the age of 35. We all use Social media as another tool to keep residents informed and encourage feedback. It isn't a replacement for meetings or the phone but it's another avenue we can take advantage of.
Here are some of the many local facebook pages that residents can "like" for information during the storm. If I'm missing any please add them in the comments!
