May Day Festival in Alburtis Sunday
The weekend centennial celebration in Alburtis wraps up with a May festival and other special events on Sunday.
Sunday marks the grand finale of the Alburtis centennial weekend celebration. Here's a list of the special events:
8 a.m.: Church of the Good Shepherd Service at Lock Ridge Park
10 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Historic Guided Walking Tour, narrated by Kevin Shoemaker, president of the Alburtis Lockridge Historical Society (leaving every hour, 15-20 per group) from Lock Ridge Church

Noon to 1 p.m.: OPEN HOUSE: East Penn Children’s Fitness Academy (45 W. Penn Avenue)
Noon to 5 p.m.: May Day Festival accompanied by crafters and community group food sales. Lehigh Valley Charter School for the Arts will be offering face painting and caricatures by the Boy Scout stand (for a small donation) at Lock Ridge Park.

2 p.m.: The Lockridge Theatre Group’s May Day Performance featuring a medieval celebration of Spring amidst the backdrop of the historic Lock Ridge Furnace ruins.
6 p.m.: Ceremonial Burial of the Time Capsule/Closing Remarks at Borough Hall (260 Franklin Street)
Visit the Alburtis Area Community Center, the Lower Macungie Library, and the First UCC to see Alburtis elementary school kids’ 100th Birthday Cards to the borough.
