Relish, the small, upscale restaurant in the Tilghman Square shopping center, is not only a trendy spot to grab a great bite to eat: it's also a canvas for those who admire, buy and sell art.
Adorning its walls currently are samples of the fine photography of Gregory Diamond, including a close-up of a colorful, healthy salad and black and white shot of a young girl's legs wearing fishnet stockings; watercolor landscapes, many featuring Amish quilts, by Renie Unger; and oil paintings of Amy Coleman's signature pears. All live in the Lehigh Valley or have local ties.
Kathy Levine, who owns the eatery with her husband/chef, said she and Brian love the look the artwork has created and are pleased to be supporting local artists by providing them with an outlet for their work. While most galleries charge for the space or require a percentage of the sale, the Levines see it as a way to give back to the community.
