Name of organizations:  “I previously helped with the Southwest Regional Comprehensive Plan. Currently, I am a member of the Alburtis Centennial Committee and also the Alburtis Downtown Revitalization Program.”

Describe what you do:  “I have volunteered with the revitalization program for the past seven years, since it first began. Alburtis was one of the first boroughs to do a revitalization program and I thought it would be a good idea to get in the ground level. The program is funded through the state and helps property owners on Main Street who want to make improvements on the facades of their buildings.  There is also an engineer available for assistance on projects. Grants are available for property owners needing financial assistance, as well.

“The revitalization program also put up banners throughout the borough and the welcome sign as they enter the borough. Additionally, I help to get grants for the borough which are used for various projects.”

How can someone get involved with this group if they want?  “Simply come to meeting. Anyone can help. Help is especially needed on the centennial committee. We meet the first Thursday at Borough Hall at 6 p.m. for the centennial committee and followed immediately for the revitalization program.”
