This Week at the Library

Last week, we constructed our dream homes, dug for buried treasure with pirates, welcomed author Katherine Ramsland, and teens discussed the book (and soon to be movie!) Maze Runner over pizza. A busy week 3!

As many of us are more firmly into vacation time, we’ve got you covered with traditional books, magazines, and audios… eBooks, eAudiobooks, and now digital magazines! Easy to download even when you can’t get into the library, so check out more details in the article we posted last week.

Another announcement: Beginning Thursday, roadwork will begin on two sections of Brookside Road, with traffic narrowing to single lanes at these places. Allow yourself extra time when coming to programs or even just making your routine library visit.

Ben's Block Party, 10am-1pm. Come join us at Ben's Block Party at the Macungie Memorial Park and support a good cause! Lots of great activities to do and organizations to check out!

And we continue to search for our Library Gnome. If you haven’t started playing the game yet, there’s still time to join us! He moves to a new location to the library every Monday; every Thursday we post a photo clue of his travels on our Facebook page. If you find him, you fill out a raffle ticket and get a chance at a prize at the end of the summer. You can also help us name him… there are a few suggestions we’ve already received and you can add your own and vote through a poll at the top of our Facebook page.

We know it’s only the middle of July and you may have cringed if you’ve already seen the back-to-school displays at stores, but in one “looking ahead” announcement, mark August 19th on your calendars for Fall signups going out. We’ve already had people ask! The signups for Fall programs will go out on the 19th at 10am. Please ask me any questions you may have leading up to it. I’ll also be available on Monday and Tuesday of that week to assist with signups before leaving for two weeks to get married.

As always, if you have any questions on programs or the library in general, please stop in, call or visit our website!
