On to Week 3 of Summer Reading Program! Wow… after this week, we’ll be half way through the six weeks of programming! (Don’t worry, kids have another week to read to reach their reading goals!) We’ve been busy so far, with over 300 readers signed up between the children’s, teens and adult programs, and nearly 3000 books read! Keep reading!
We’ve also had an author/illustrator visit since last week, as the kids welcomed Lindsay Barrett George to the library. This week, the adults have an author visit, with guest Katherine Ramsland. Next week, we have the Lower Macungie Garden Club coming. Lots going on!
And we continue to search for our Library Gnome. If you haven’t started playing the game yet, there’s still time to join us! He moves to a new location to the library every Monday; every Thursday we post a photo clue of his travels on our Facebook page. In fact, he was pretty lonely here in the library all by himself on the July 4th holiday last week! If you find him, you fill out a raffle ticket and get a chance at a prize at the end of the summer. You can also help us name him… there are a few suggestions we’ve already received and you can add your own and vote through a poll at the top of our Facebook page.
