Hopefully if you needed to shop for Christmas presents, you’ve made all your purchases! If you’re like my dad, you’ve waited until today and tomorrow, and just forget about finding a card for your loved one that isn’t over-the- top cheesy or for the right family relationship (because Grandma would love a card for “sister”, right? ;) ) Actually, I’ll give my dad credit… I always help him shop for my mom, and this year, we went two and a half weeks ago since it was the only day in our schedules I could help him. Unfortunately for my mom, that means he had two and a half extra weeks to try to booby-trap one of her gifts with his wrap-job. Just to give you an idea of his creativity, one year a caulking gun was used, and last year, there was a motor fan. When we finished shopping and talked about his extra time, he mentioned YouTube. Sorry, Mom! Hopefully you have some family time to look forward to as well! (Check out this cute Apple ad about family time over the holidays!)
Obviously, our hours are different this week, and I’ll just list each day with when we’re open or if we’re closed, as there are no programs going on until the new year!
This week at the library…

I’ll keep repeating our closing policy since we’re in that time of year! We operate independent of the East Penn School District in our own delays and closings decisions, meaning even if EPSD is closed one day, we may still open or open late. However, as far as children’s programs go, we take a cue from East Penn: If EPSD has a two hour delay, morning programs are cancelled. If EPSD has an early dismissal, afternoon and evening programs are cancelled. If EPSD is closed for the day, all children’s programs are cancelled. You can find the library’s winter weather delay and closing information by checking our website (www.lowermaclib.org) which will have a gray banner across the top with any information, on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/lowermacungielibrary), or on WFMZ.
As always, if you have any questions on programs or the library in general, please stop in, call or visit our website! For those of you celebrating, Merry Christmas! And if you celebrate Kwanzaa, Happy Kwanzaa!
