Beitler, Conrad Win GOP Race for Lower Macungie Commissioner
Incumbent Ryan Conrad and challenger Ron Beitler win Republican nods for Lower Macungie commissioner, according to unofficial vote tallies from Lehigh County. Published reports show Brian Higgins also winning a nod.
Incumbent Ryan Conrad and challenger Ron Beitler won two of the Republican nominations for four-year terms on the Lower Macungie Board of Commissioners, according to unofficial tallies from Lehigh County.
Incumbent Roger Reis also won a Republican nomination, according to the Lehigh County website. However, The Morning Call's unofficial tallies and WFMZ's unofficial tallies gave the third win to challenger Brian Higgins.
Incumbent Ronald Eichenberg apparently lost his bid in Tuesday's primary.

According to Lehigh County's website, Conrad had 1,244 votes, Beitler had 1,209 votes and Reis had 1,147 votes in unofficial tallies.
Higgins had 1,075 votes and Eichenberg, 892, according to Lehigh County's website.

There were discrepancies in the tallies, however. The Morning Call reported unofficial vote counts that gave the Republican nominations to Beitler, Conrad and Higgins, with 1,272 votes, 1,241 votes and 1,129 votes respectively.
WFMZ.com also gave the Republican nods to Beitler, Conrad and Higgins.
Only one Democrat—John A. Yurasits—was seeking the Democratic Party's nomination in the primary for one of the three seats, and it is not known whether there were any write-in Democratic candidates for the remaining two seats.
The winners will square off in the November general election for three seats.
