LOWER MORELAND, PA — Children and teens are kicking the front doors of homes "as hard as they can" in Montgomery County as part of a new social media trend.

Police call the trend dangerous and urging parents to speak with their children about it.

"It would be devastating if a seemingly innocent prank escalated into a physical confrontation or violent incident involving a property owner and youths," the Lower Moreland Township Police Department shared.

Known as the "Door Knock Challenge," the trend has gained popularity on platforms like TikTok and Instagram.

The chief risk presented is the potential for confrontation between pranksters and homeowners, police say.

However, property damage and injuries to children while attempting the kick are also risks.

The trend is not new, with numerous incidents reported around Montgomery County last summer as well. Communities like Conshohocken, Lansdale, Lower Moreland, and others have all had problems.

Police advise residents to report such activity to their local department.
