Lower Moreland Grad Part of Medical Marijuana Biz

Bruce Bedrick, LMHS '86, sold his Medbox-brand pot-management computer systems to 90 dispensaries on the West Coast.

A Lower Moreland graduate has recently become a major player in the medical marijuana business.

A chiropractor from Huntingdon Valley who graduated from LMHS in ’86, Bruce Bedrick is chief executive of the Arizona-based business Kind Clinics, which has sold his Medbox-brand pot-management and legal-compliance computer systems to 90 weed dispensaries in California and other Western states.

His computer system creates databases filled with customer info which includes dosage amounts, doctor recommendations, expiration dates and more. Each customer must log in the system with their fingerprint, where they will then be able to select the product they want.

Bedrick describes the medical marijuana industry as “a mess” right now with different federal and state laws across the country. He also says that he believes Pennsylvania will be one of the last states to fall in line with supplying medical marijuana. "It's too difficult a state to force."
