1 Hospitalized After Police Incident At Schwenksville Home

State police and firefighters responded to the scene, where they said a man was causing a disturbance on the balcony of a local home.

SCHWENKSVILLE, PA — One man was hospitalized after a police incident at a home in Schwenksville Monday, authorities said.

The incident occurred at around 2 p.m. on the 2100 block of Forest Lane.

Authorities were called to what was originally described as a barricade situation, after a 35-year-old man made "concerning statements" to another individual, Pennsylvania State Police said.

When troopers arrived, the man refused to exit the home and caused a disturbance on the balcony of the home, police said.

The nature of the disturbance was not elaborated on, but in the midst of officers attempting to safely get the man off the balcony, he fell part of the way down, according to authorities.

The man became entangled in a railing, and was rescued by troopers and firefighters with the Lower Frederick Fire Company.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries and a mental health evaluation.

No charges were announced, and no other injuries were reported in the incident.
