9th Avenue Shut Down In Collegeville, Power Outages Abound

LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — Power outages and road closures struck the Collegeville area during Friday's storm.

9th Avenue was shut down from College Avenue to Route 29 due to trees and wires that were downed by the wind, officials said.

Debris was also in the road on Eagleville Road near Visitation Drive at around 3:20 p.m.

More than 1,000 customers were without power at one point on Friday afternoon in Lower Providence. By around 3:30 p.m., that number was down to 755, according to PECO outage maps.

Motorists are urged to use caution and expect delays.

Nearby, the Manayunk/Norristown SEPTA line has not been shut down - as several Regional Rail lines have been - but there have been consistent delays as the storm progresses.
