Alligator Found Wandering the Streets of Collegeville

Anyone walking the streets of Collegeville on Thursday morning might have been in for a surprise.

Police said that a young alligator was found 'wandering' around the borough. He is about two feet long, police said.

It is not illegal to own an alligator or crocodile in Pennsylvania, although it is illegal to release one into the wild.

The alligator's teeth appeared to have been filed down or removed, based on the photo supplied by the police department.

Police did not say where they planned on taking the alligator.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
