LOWER PROVIDENCE TOWNSHIP, PA — Hydrant flushing operations are getting underway in several communities in Montgomery County Monday and water service could be impacted, Pennsylvania American Water said.

Water pressure may be reduced during hydrant flushing, and residents could experience discolored water.

Flushing work will take place between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Flushing helps maintain water quality, remove sediment and other deposits that build up in pipes, and keep infrastructure running smoothly.

If your water is discolored, run cold water taps at a low level for 3 to 5 minutes.
