A Rainbow of Foot Prints!

The Beginner 2 class explores paint and texture with lots of color and tickles in this fun art project!

The Beginner 2 classroom at Chesterbrook Academy in Audubon decided to explore color and texture by making colorful footprints!

First, each child chose his/her favorite out of a collection of 6 bright colors! They named the colors in English and Spanish, then helped take off their socks and shoes.

Once they were barefoot, a teacher slowly painted the child's foot while asking what the paint and feeling of the brush against their toes feels like. Most children answered "Tickles" or "Cold".

At the count of 3, they made a foot print with one foot. Then repeated the above with their other foot, making colorful foot prints!

Once the foot prints dried up, the teachers lined up the childrens' foot prints on the floor, securing them with clear contact paper, creating a line of feet stretching from the door into the classroom. This project will now serve as a bright aid for the children to line up when getting ready to go outside on the playground or for outdoor activities!
