Abund, yes, you read the title right. I’d like to make the word abundance a verb. I’d like it to be an action that everyone can do – flourish; flourish by appreciating and utilizing all the beauty, resources, talents, and opportunities in their lives.
Do you feel the world is out to “get you”, or do you feel you are welcome to what the world has to offer? Notice I used the word “feel”. Feelings come from thoughts. So, if you think in terms of lack or doom then your feelings follow suit. Once feelings are established, the body responds physically to those thoughts and feelings. In other words, you act out what you think and feel.
Would you like to experience greater abundance in your life? If yes, then change your thoughts to realize abundance exists and is available to everyone in one form or another – abundant health, wealth, love, happiness, nourishment, knowledge, etc. Accepting this thought creates a different kind of feeling than lack and doom. It creates a feeling of prosperity and hope.

The timeliness of me writing about this topic stems from my participation in Deepak Chopra’s 21-Day Meditation Challenge for Abundance (registration is still available). I completed 4 days of the program and have been surprised by the following:
- The brevity, yet effectiveness of the sessions. The recordings are only 15-minutes long.
- The effects of quiet time being a revelation of deep-rooted beliefs that I need to change in order to receive greater abundance in my life.
- The realization of hope. It always helps to be reminded that the power to change your life lies within you. Seeing a glass half empty is a choice. You can always choose differently and see it half full. It just takes mental practice to maintain that perspective.
- The simplicity of the 21-Day Challenge. There is no need to complicate things. All that is required is focused attention on abundance for 21-days. I am curious about what will happen on day 22. It takes 21 days for a process to become habitual. This program will certainly put that to the test. Will thoughts remain abundance-focused on day 22, 23, 24…, or will thoughts return to beliefs imposed by social conditioning and thus living day-to-day accepting status quo as a matter of fact? It is an easy enough program to evaluate.
- The cost is free. Enough said.
This all leads to me sharing my favorite thought about abundance and prosperity. “I am worthy of the best because the world will show me what to do with the best I am given.” - Maggie O’Malley
