A new study ranks the financial health and skills of nearly 3,000 cities around the country. Collegeville fared among the very worst.

COLLEGEVILLE, PA —Managing one’s funds is one of the great struggles of the modern human condition, and Collegeville residents are apparently struggling more than most.
According to a recent study by WalletHub, Collegeville residents are among some of the worst in the country at managing their finances. Collegeville residents rank 2,567th out of 2,570 cities analyzed in the “highest credit-card debt to income ratio” category.
Overall, including a look at credit scores, mortgages, car loans, student debt loans, as well as the average number of late payments, Collegeville took 2,561st place.

In Pennsylvania, Allison Park led the way in 48th place. Nearby, Malvern was the top placer, ranking 129th.

Collegeville’s credit score was significantly better than many other low ranking towns, as they averaged a 727.42.
