Both cognitive difficulties and anatomical changes in the brain occur as part of the healthy aging process (i.e. having difficulty hearing conversation at a crowded restaurant as one grows older). The goal of the seminar is to discuss these changes, and to offer compensatory strategies and advice for coping with age-related changes in hearing, memory, language and other cognitive domains. The seminar involves a 30-minute presentation by members of the lab, followed by a question-and-answer session. At the end of the seminar, attendees will be asked if they want to participate in University of Pennsylvania’s ongoing research. Researchers will return June 11 to test interested parties.
