This is an amazing event. Coming to the Alternative gift market is an awesome holiday experience. You are surrounded by a room of about 20 local and international nonprofits that are dedicated to helping others. There are ones for orphan care, seeing dogs, against domestic violence, shelters, clean water, and so many others. You are able to give a donation to the organization and they'll give you a card and a little gift that you can give to a loved one that says something like "a year of clean water was donated to a family in Africa through Come Unity in your name!" What an awesome gift... and they have donations for as little as $5 which make great stocking stuffers... but the really,really awesome part is you get to talk with a person who actually works for the nonprofit, find out what it's really about and learn about the incredible ways that people are helping people in your local community. Also there is some kids crafts and some baked goods, so please bring your kids and show them about giving gifts that last.
