CELESTIAL HIGHLIGHTS PLANETARIUM SHOW AT MALLON PLANETARIUM
(Ages 10 years and up)
What planets are visible this season? When is the best time to see shooting stars? Explore with Planetarium Director, Ted Williams, the current seasonal sky. Bright navigational stars and common asterisms will assist us to find many ancient constellations. Celestial Highlights is a program that Mr. Williams presented as a guest speaker for the past 8 years in the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History. Visitors will leave with a basic understanding of how to find their way around the night sky, and how to locate some amazing sights that can be viewed with binoculars and a small beginner telescope. Some exemplary applications for mobile phones and pad devices will be shared. After the show, YOU can manipulate the universe by using the NEW iPads equipped with astronomical software.
