Georges' on the Main Line will opened its doors for the final time onΒ Wednesday. While the restaurantΒ initially planned to conclude its business onΒ July 7, itΒ will no longer be open for the holiday weekend.
George Perrier, the previous owner of both Georges' and Philadelphia'sΒ LeΒ Bec-Fin, was no longer owner of the Wayne locationΒ sometime between March and February, according to general manager Aaron Kavulich. But the restaurant stayed open until this month.Β
The current ownership group, Herb and Karen Lotman, will retain ownership of the restaurant. They will reopen the doors with a "new concept"Β that is still being finalizedΒ by the end of July, Kavulich told Radnor Patch.
"It took some time and planning," Kavulich said. "We had an awful lot of commitments forΒ long-termΒ parties that we needed to attend to."
Kavulich added that theΒ "core staff members" will remain, including the management, executive chef, front-of-house employees and key service persons.
