Heat Advisory Issued Tuesday in Montgomery County

The sweltering temperatures will impact the I-95 corridor, including the Philadelphia Metro area.

Tuesday will be hot, with a heat index that will make it feel like temperatures are in the upper 90s.

A heat advisory is in place in Eastern Pennsylvania starting at 11 a.m. Tuesday and going through 6 p.m., the National Weather Service said.

The hottest part of the day will be in the early to mid afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Showers and thunderstorms will move into the area, bringing with them a cold front in the late afternoon and early evening hours.

“The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible,” the National Weather Service warns.

  • Stay in the air condition
  • Stay out of the sun
  • Never leave children or pets in parked cars
  • Check on elderly neighbors
