We moved to Lower Providence 16 years ago, and we chose our house because of the great reputation of the Methacton schools. The school closing hearings in February made us stand up and question some of the actions the district was taking.

Some questions that remain unanswered: Why are we looking at closing Audubon without first verifying our existing school capacity? Will those students from Audubon be able to fit into the remaining elementary schools without an increase in class size or reduction in educational quality at the elementary level? Why is the district planning to spend another (at least) $23,000 for a study on enrollment projections when the school capacity question has not been answered?

We want a school board that will provide more transparency in its financial disclosures and decision-making processes, more thought into what it spends and why, will listen to the voices of the community, and will lead the region in implementing curriculum enhancements so that Methacton remains a highly ranked school district.

This is why we are voting for the CARE Team- Chris Boardman, Mike Ryan, Andrea Rees, Paul Winters and Kim Aubrey-Larcinese.
