Lower Providence Cops Rescue Man Choking On Food

Two Lower Providence police officers were recognized for their heroic actions after they saved a man's life recently.

LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — Two Lower Providence police officers were recognized for their heroic actions after they saved a man's life recently.

Sergeant Bill Hopkins and Officer Matt Cerasuolo were called to a local restaurant for the report of a man choking on food.

The pair immediately began to administer the Heimlich maneuver and CPR, according to authorities.

Their swift actions helped clear the victim's airway, and the man survived.

At the Lower Providence Township Board of Supervisors meeting on Thursday, both Hopkins and Cerasuolo received a life saving commendation for their efforts.
