#1023 – MOON WITCH – 6:30-7:15p.m.
This traditional style (stop animation) Planetarium classic follows Billy and Diana out on Halloween night. The moon and some of its illusions come into question as the children partake in “trick or treating” for the evening. Discussed are lunar features, how the moon appears to change phase and a myriad of information about Earth’s only natural satellite. This is targeted for grades 2-4.
#1024 – MOLECULARIUM – 7:15-7:45p.m.
A Planetarium full dome digital presentation targeted for younger audiences and families. The Molecularium is an amazing ship that can speed up or slow down time, as well as change sizes to observe the universe at the atomic level. Join Oxy, Hydro and Hydra for this animated adventure through time and space. Public star viewing afterward sky conditions/weather permitting.
#1025 – DYNAMIC EARTH – 7:50-8:15p.m.
An award winning Planetarium full dome digital presentation that is targeted for ages 11 and up. Dynamic Earth explores the inner workings of Earth’s climate system. This cutting edge production follows a trail of energy that flows from the Sun to the interlocking systems that shape our climate, the atmosphere, oceans and the biosphere. Audiences will ride along on swirling ocean and wind currents, dive into the heart of a monster hurricane and fly into broiling volcanoes.
#1026 - Celestial Highlights – 8:20-9:00p.m.
This astronomical “Tour de Force” was the leading presentation at the Hayden Planetarium for over 25 years. Ted Williams, our planetarium director, is a presenter at the Hayden planetarium and brings this amazing night sky tour to our community. We will use the current constellations to find visible planets and deep space objects visible through the current season. Public star viewing afterward sky conditions/weather permitting.
