Monday Fire Damages Collegeville Home

Firefighters battled a blaze early Monday evening in Collegeville.

COLLEGEVILLE, PA — Firefighters battled a blaze early Monday evening in Collegeville.

The incident was first reported just after 5 p.m. on the 3900 block of Crosskeys Road.

Authorities said that the blaze originated from the basement of the home, which was a single story ranch-style residence.

When first responders arrived, all of the occupants of the house had already been evacuated.

Crews attacked the fire and were able to extinguish it within a short period of time. The home was then ventilated due to heavy smoke from the fire, authorities said.

The Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the blaze.

No injuries were reported.

Lower Providence Fire Department was assisted by Collegeville Fire Company, Trappe Fire Company, Perkiomen Fire Company, and Lower Providence EMS on the scene.
