Montco Deputy Warden Takes No. 1 Job at Lancaster Co. Prison

Dennis J. Molyneaux leaves Montgomery County Correctional Facility after 37 years.

Lancaster County Prison named Dennis Molyneaux as its new warden last Thursday, according to Lancaster Online, replacing former warden Vincent Guarini who retired in April.

Molyneaux, 58, was selected from 30 applicants in a nationwide search, because of his experience as deputy warden at Montgomery County Correctional Facility, where his responsibilities included overseeing budgeting and administration, and implementing programs such as the prison library and inmate life-skills programs.

He also has experience as a prison guard, which Molyneaux said will help him relate to prison staff.

The Lancaster County Prison has about half the capacity of Montgomery County Correctional Facility, but Molyneaux said conditions were better than expected at the Lancaster prison.

Molyneaux's first day on the job in Lancaster will be Oct. 1.
