Montco Habitat For Humanity Announces Partnership With Raymour and Flanagan

The partnership will aim to coordinate community development and abandoned home repair around Montgomery County.

NORRISTOWN, PA -- For Montgomery County families living in poverty, Habitat for Humanity can be the hand up needed to get a new start in life. Now, thanks to a new partnership between Raymour & Flanigan’s Montgomery County stores and Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County (HFHMC), more families will receive help towards their goal of owning a simple, decent and affordable home. The stores are located in Abington, Collegeville, Jenkintown, King of Prussia, Montgomeryville and Plymouth Meeting.

“Habitat for Humanity is an incredible organization that helps families create new beginnings,” said Greg Cherney of Raymour & Flanigan. “We’re very excited to volunteer, to raise money and to donate to their ReStore to support their mission of empowering low-income families to become homeowners.”

The partnership kicked off on May 5, 2016, when a group of Raymour & Flanigan associates worked during a build day on the Habitat house at 52 West Basin Street in Norristown. The house is being readied for occupancy in June.

The public is invited to the Plymouth Meeting showroom at 2200 Chemical Road in Plymouth Meeting to meet the HFHMC staff and support Habitat’s Neighborhood Revitalization program which improves neighborhoods through community development, rehabilitation of abandoned housing and critical home repairs.

Furniture donations will be made to Habitat’s ReStore, a discount home improvement store that sells new and used furniture, housewares, appliances, tools and building materials to the public at discounted prices. Every purchase made at the ReStore builds, rehabs and repairs homes in Montgomery County.
