Montco School Launches STEM Center For Special Education Students
The new $3.5 million "Innovation Center" in Montgomery County combines an array of innovative technologies for students with special needs.
WEST NORRITON, PA — A new $3.5 million center focused on providing an advanced STEM learning opportunity for students with special needs has been launched at a school in Montgomery County.
The Pathway School in West Norriton celebrated the official launch of their Innovation Center this month.
“The Innovation Center means so much to us here at Pathway because it gives us the opportunity to teach employability skills for the future,” Jeff Fullem, the STEM coordinator at the Pathway School, said in a statement. “We now have the tools and spaces for students to get hands-on experience, enabling them to identify things they are good at and enjoy doing.”

Some of the features of the center include an eSports lab for competitive gaming, an engineering, tools, and tech area, a sciences classroom, a culinary arts room with a student-run cafe, a technology creation and learning space, and more.
The center is designed for students aged 5 to 21.

Pathway says that about 30 percent of their graduates go on to two or four year colleges or trade school, and another 60 percent go on to regular jobs or volunteer opportunities.
A grand opening ceremony and event will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 6:30 p.m.
The Pathway School is located at 162 Egypt Road, with an Eagleville zip code.
