Numerous Cell Phone Packages Stolen In Collegeville Area: Police

COLLEGEVILLE, PA — Numerous packages containing cell phones have been stolen in the Collegeville area and around Montgomery County in recent weeks, sparking an alert from local authorities.

Collegeville police said the thefts have occurred with packages that were delivered by FedEx. Typically the phones that were stolen were AT&T. These common underlying factors are "being looked into," authorities said.

Police recommended that residents not buy cell phones online, but use a store instead. They added that if delivery must occur, to require a signature.
