Police In Montco Warn Residents About Gunshot Election Protest

A social media post is circulating telling local residents to "safely discharge three rounds" to protest the 2020 election, police said.

LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — Police in Lower Providence are warning residents following a social media post directing residents to fire gunshots this weekend to protest the election.

The post, shared on Facebook and elsewhere, says that residents should “safely discharge three rounds followed by a repeat of three rounds," to express both the results of the 2020 election and the coverage of the election by the mainstream media.

"Please remember to use extreme caution whenever handling firearms and when engaged in shooting activities," the Lower Providence Police Department shared Friday. "Not only is it unsafe to fire a weapon in a reckless manner but it is also against the law."
