Route 29 Shut Down For Construction Has Been Delayed

Route 29 was scheduled to be closed on Wednesday. That closure has been postponed.

SCHUYLKILL TOWNSHIP, PA – Route 29 was scheduled to be closed on Wednesday, March 2, but that closure has been postponed, PennDOT announced Tuesday.

The closure would have been effective from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Officials said that the operation will be rescheduled at a later date.

Crews will be working to replace a deteriorated drainage pipe.

During the operation, Route 29 through traffic will be detoured over Charlestown Road and Pothouse Road. Local access will be maintained up to the construction area.

Motorists will be advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area.
