'Suspicious' Man In Lower Providence Area Is Asking Children If They Need A Ride: Cops

Police said that a man in the Lower Providence area has been driving around asking children if he can drive them home.

Police said that a man in the Lower Providence area has been driving around asking children if he can drive them home.

The most recent incident occurred on Thursday at around 4 p.m. on Vincent Drive in Collegeville, authorities said.

The man, who is a described as between 50 and 60 years old with spiked gray hair and a white beard, was driving a silver sedan, possible a Toyota, according to police.

He pulled alongside a child walking home and asked him if he needed a ride.

The boy ignored him and ran home, authorities said.

"Parents, please discuss this incident with your children and make them aware. Tell them to never accept a ride from anyone unless it has been arranged by you and to call the police immediately if they ever encounter something like this," police said in a statement.
