Teen Assaults Man, Robs Bike In Lower Providence

A teenager escaped from a residential treatment program in Audubon, assaulted a man, and stole his bike, police said.

LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — A teenager has been arrested after assaulting a 55-year-old and stealing his bicycle, according to reports.

The Times Herald first reported the incident, which occurred at around 6 p.m. on Sunday evening.

The 17-year-old suspect escaped from St. Gabriel's Hall in Audubon, a residential treatment center for young men, according to Lower Providence Police.

He then attacked the 55-year-old man, causing injuries which led him to bleed from his face, authorities said.

The teen was tracked to South Collegeville Road in Upper Providence shortly therafter and taken into custody at the Montgomery County Youth Center.
