Ursinus College Hosts Author/Scholar Rynetta Davis Speaking on Single Black Womanhood

Rynetta Davis, a literary scholar on the English faculty at the University of Kentucky, will speak at Ursinus on Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. in Musser Auditorium in Pfahler Hall. Her talk is titled, “All the Single Ladies: Unmarried Black Women in African American Literary History.”

In the context of African American History Month, she will speak on her forthcoming book, Singled Out: Single Black Womanhood and African American Literary History, which focuses on representations of unmarried black women in nineteenth-century African American literature.
