U.S. 422 Overnight Traffic Stoppages Scheduled in Montgomery County
The stoppages are scheduled on U.S. 422 at the Route 363 Interchange in West Norriton and Lower Providence townships.

Intermittent traffic stoppages are scheduled on U.S. 422 at the Route 363 (Trooper Road) Interchange in West Norriton and Lower Providence townships, Montgomery County, from 10 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 20) to 6 a.m. Friday (Nov. 21) for the removal and relocation of overhead utility wires, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said Monday.
This operation is part of PennDOT’s $16.8 million project to improve travel through the U.S. 422-Route 363 (Trooper Road) Interchange by constructing 2 additional access ramps and widening Route 363 (Trooper Road).

Weather permitting, U.S. 422 traffic will be stopped intermittently in both directions while utility crews remove and relocate overhead wires located just east of the Route 363 (Trooper Road) bridge. Each traffic stoppage is expected to last approximately 15 minutes.
PennDOT began construction in October 2013 to build an on-ramp from Route 363 (Trooper Road) to westbound U.S. 422 and an off-ramp from eastbound U.S. 422 to Route 363 (Trooper Road), and to widen Route 363 (Trooper Road). Construction is scheduled to finish in fall 2015.

J.D. Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor on the $16,857,533 contract, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
