Winter Weather Advisory in Effect Through Tuesday Morning

A wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain expected overnight.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the region, saying that a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain expected overnight into Tuesday.

The advisory is in place for Chester and Montgomery counties through 7 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, the NWS said.

“Hazardous travel is expected to develop overnight,” the NWS said. “The combination of wet snow accumulation as well as ice accumulation may lead to power outages.” Little accumulation is expected.

Winds of up to 10 mph with gusts of up to 20 mph are expected.

A Flood Watch will be in place for the region beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday, the NWS said.

Heavy rain, with total rainfall of up to 2 inches, is possible on Tuesday, the NWS said. “Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action.”
