LOWER SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Two people have been charged for cutting and stealing 125 feet of Verizon telecommunications wires in Feasterville, police said.
The Lower Southampton Township Police Department responded at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 19 after a resident reported two people cutting down Verizon telecommunications wires in the area of Bustleton Pike and Jasmine Way.
The resident reported that a U-Haul van was being used in the theft, police said. Police arrested a man and a woman after finding the van and the severed wires.
Police charged Claudia Feroukh, 51, of Philadelphia, and Tim Clarke, 51, of Bensalem. A records check revealed an active arrest warrant for Feroukh.
A Verizon representative responded to the scene and determined that approximately 125 feet of severed wire would need to be replaced with an estimated value of $10,000.
Both Feroukh and Clarke were arrested, arraigned, and transported to Bucks County Prison, where they will await their preliminary hearings.
