Board of Supervisors Commend Police Officers, Detectives

The Lower Southampton Board of Supervisors took time Wednesday night to recognize the work of several police officers and detectives.

Family and friends of Lower Southampton Police officers filled the township building's board room to watch the Board of Supervisors honor the officers' work in the community.

First, the board honored Corporal Brian Disbrow and Officers Mark Cieslinski, Steve Castle and Jeff Wilson. These officers responded to Delta Medical Transport on Philmont Avenue January 9 for a report of a silent alarm. The quick action and training of these officers led to arrests of "dangerous subjects" were apprehended in this incident, according to the board's proclamation.

Officer Christopher Koehnlein was then recognized for his assistance in detaining an actor that was considered "armed and dangerous" November 21, 2011. The actor was then arrested for assault, burglary, theft and possession of an instrument of crime for an armed robbery in Upper Southampton.

Officer Cieslinski was recognized again by the board for his role in thwarting a theft of four new motorcycles from Bromely's Motorcycle Sales May 9, 2011. 

Following Cienslinski's arrest of the suspect in the burglary incident, Detective Eric Landamia executed a court order and search warrant on the suspect's cell phone. According to the proclamation, the record obtained from the warrant yielded communications between the suspect and three accomplices and showed that they were in the area of that burglary.

The records also proved that those accomplices were in the area of the crimes in other Bucks County juridictions, including Bensalem, Bristol and Quakertown. The investigation led to the arrest of those individuals for more than 100 felony counts, including burglary, motor vehicle theft, criminal trespass and more.

The board recognized Landamia's investigation that led to the four defendants pleading guilty.

The Board of Supervisors also honored Officer Brian Walter for his reponse to an emergency situation in Upper Southampton Aprul 15, 2011. Walter performed CPR on the Ivyland Police chief when he suffered a heart attack. The CPR Walter performed revived the chief, who was then transported to the hospital.
