
The American Public Transportation Association [APTA], in conjunction with the Sierra Club and the Natural Resources Defense Council [NRDC] announced that Thursday, June 16 would be the sixth annual National Dump the Pump Day.
According to a press release issued by the APTA, Dump the Pump Day "encourages people to save money by parking the car and using public transportation instead."
“Using public transportation is the quickest way to beat high gas prices – if it is available in your community,” APTA President William Millar stated in the release.

You can utilize SEPTA's Regional Rail service. The R2 Warminster Line begins at the Warminster Station located at Station and Jacksonville Roads. Here is a list of station locations along the R2 Warminster Line. The West Trenton Line stops at the Langhorne station at Bellevue and Comly Avenues, the Neshaminy Falls station at Bristol Road and Linden Street, and the Trevose Station at Ridge and Boundbrook Avenues. You could also use SEPTA's Bus Service. The 58 bus goes from Somerton and Neshaminy Mall to the Frankford Transportation Center, with a stop at Elmwood Avenue and Brownsville Road and another stop at Bustleton Ave and County Line Road in Lower Southampton. Here is the Street Road RushBus schedule, but not all stops are shown due to the RushBus "flag-stop" policy; When flagged, the RushBus will stop at the nearest safe location for passengers to board or disembark.
