Flood Advisory, Strong Thunderstorms in Bucks & Montgomery Counties
The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory this morning.

Just after 6:30 a.m. today, the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ issued a flood advisory in both Bucks and Montgomery counties until 9:30 a.m. this morning.
According to the flood advisory, at 6:31 a.m. bands of heavy showers and embedded thunderstorms were moving from Southeast Pennsylvania into Western and Northern New Jersey that could cause pockets of poor drainage flooding during the morning rush hour.
Rainfall of one half to 1 inch is possible in an hours time.

At 8:16 a.m., the National Weather Service issued a special weather statement stating that strong thunderstorms would affect Bucks and Montgomery counties.
The National Weather Service doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms along a line extending from three miles Northwest of Philadelphia to four miles West of Camden to six miles south of Camden moving Northeast at 20 mph.

The strongest storms were located in Philadelphia and also in Northeastern Gloucester County, NJ, according to the statement.
In addition, wind gusts up to 40 mph and small hail are possible with the strongest storms. Very heavy rain will fall from these storms and will cause water to pond on roads and greatly reduct the visibilities, the statement reported.
Cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Do not seek shelter under trees when lightning threatens, move indoors when a thunderstorm approaches, the statement warned.
