Lane Restrictions Scheduled on Street Road This Week

Lane restrictions are scheduled on Street Road between Route 1 (Lincoln Highway) and Sterners Mill Road in Bensalem and Lower Southampton townships.

PennDOT announced that lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 132 (Street Road) between Route 1 (Lincoln Highway) and Sterners Mill Road in Bensalem and Lower Southampton townships from Wednesday, October 12 through Saturday, October 15 for concrete replacement.

According to a PennDOT press release, one lane will be closed on Street Road on Wednesday through Friday, October 14 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and from 8 p. m. Friday to 8 p.m. Saturday, October 15.

PennDOT is advising motorists to allow extra time when traveling on Route 1 through the construction area.

The work is part of PennDOT’s $6 million preventative maintenance project to repair deteriorated concrete on 18 state highways in the Philadelphia region, as stated in the release. Crews are repairing and improving 63 miles of highway in the region by sealing concrete pavement joints and cracks, and patching areas of deteriorated concrete pavement.

Glasgow Inc. of Glenside, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the $6,073,681 project that is financed with 100 percent state funds. The work is expected to finish in May 2012.
