Last Chance: Eric Hanson Memorial Scholarship

April 1 is the application deadline for the Eric Hanson Memorial Scholarship.The Lower Southampton Athletic Association, in conjuction with the Feasterville Business Association, will be awarding three $500 scholarships to Lower Southampton students.

Scholarship applicants should currently be involved in a sports activity, either at the high school or club level, or be performing volunteer work for the LSAA. In addition, they must have played in LSAA programs or the GALS softball program for at least three years.

According to the scholarship application posted on the township website, the student applicants must be a senior in the top half of his or her high school graduating class and be able to substantiate his or her ability to be a leader on the field. The application requires the student to submit a copy of the applicant's high school transcript and a letter from either a coach and/or an athletic director substantiating leadership and sports recognitions.

The scholarship is not available to any student who has been awarded a full scholarship from a college or university.

Scholarship winners will be selected by the Feasterville Business Association. They will receive the scholarship award sometime in May.
