Warmer Than Usual Fall Predicted For Pennsylvania

Above-average temperatures are predicted through November in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, the Weather Channel said.

Soon it will be time to say goodbye to summer and welcome in the crisp fall air.

But it may not be all that crisp — at least in the beginning, forecasters predict.

The Weather Channel Professional Division on Friday released its fall temperature forecast and predictions indicate the northeast will experience above average temperatures through November.

“One of the biggest factors in the temperature forecast over the next three months is likely to be the strong El Niño event, which is expected to last into the winter,” the Weather Channel said.

The Weather Channel predicts El Niño will continue to limit tropical activity in the Atlantic basin, increasing the chances of a mild winter across much of the northern U.S., according to Dr. Todd Crawford, a chief meteorologist with the Weather Channel.

From September to November, eastern states can expect temperatures to be warmer than average, while much of the plains and parts of the southwest will likely experience cooler than average temperatures, the Weather Channel said.
