Weather Service: Flood Watch Goes Into Effect Saturday Afternoon
The National Weather Service issued a flood watch in Bucks and Montgomery counties beginning Saturday afternoon.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ issued a flood watch for Bucks and Montgomery County late Thursday afternoon. The flood watch will go into effect Saturday afternoon and remain in effect through Sunday evening.
A flood watch means that there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts, as stated in the weather service's alert.
According to the alert, there will be heavy and possibly record setting rainfall amounts in the Saturday to Sunday time from that may result in major flooding across New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and the Maryland Eastern Shore.

In addition, smaller creeks and streams will be highly susceptible to rapid flooding. The Raritan and Schuylkill Rivers have the potential to react rather quickly and also are highly susceptiple to flooding.
The weather service advises to monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
