The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch beginning at noon today and remaining in effect until late tonight in Bucks and Montgomery counties.
According to the alert, numerous showers and thunderstorms will be capable of producing heavy rain in a short period of time today and tonight, mainly this afternoon into early tonight, and may cause flooding.
Thunderstorms, which will also be capable of producing copious lightning, this afternoon and this evening may yield more than 2 inches of rain in less than an hour.

Heavy rains over heavily traveled highways in the I-95 corridor may be especially vulnerable, according the alert.
There is no hazardous weather expected Saturday and Sunday at this time.
