Weekly Summer Camps to be Held at Playwicki Farm
The Parks and Recreation Department will hold weekly summer enrichment camps at Playwicki Farm for the first time this summer.
For the first time this summer, the Lower Southampton Township Parks and Recreation Department will be offering 10 summer enrichment weekly camps at for children ages 5 - 7.
According to the township website, this program will provide an outlet for children to be active, fun, stimulating and creative. In addition, it is designed to "enrich and extend a child's school experience by emphasizing exploring, thinking and accepting."
Campers will be able to explore creative outlets by making art projects and take part in organized games and activities "that stress the importance of motor skills, sportsmanship, and cooperation."

The cost of the program costs $45 per child per week, which includes a healthy lunch for campers. The camp will be held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Parents and guardians are encouraged to register their children early since each week is limited to only 27 campers.

Week 1: Colors of Nature
June 18 - June 22
Campers will be learning about the colors of nature by taking a nature walk where they can graph colors they see, play games about animals and their colors, make dioramas about nature and more.
Week 2: Animal Tracks/Get Messy
June 25 - June 29
Kids will get down and dirty doing crafts and art projects as well as participating in activities like digging for gold. Make sure they are dressed appropriately.
Week 3: Mapping in the USA
July 2 - July 6 (Closed July 4)
Each day the campers will learn about the states that make up the United States.
Week 4: Backyard Sports Galore
July 9 - July 13
Kids will get to rotate through activities that they normally play in the school yard and their backyard. They will have fun learning about teamwork and sportsmanship.
Week 5: Nature is All Around Us
July 16 - July 20
The kids will go on a nature hunt, do some bird watching and learn about the different animals in nature.
Week 6: I'm a Detective
July 23 - July 27
Each day, kids will be given a mystery to solve together.
Week 7: Superheroes of the Earth
July 30 - August 3
Kids will learn about the Earth's superheroes and be able to create their own superhero.
Week 8: Space is the Place
August 6 - August 10
Campers can look for moon rocks, make spaceships, do an alien hunt, learn about different stars or walk on the moon.
Week 9: Sounds of the Earth
August 13 - August 17
Each camper will be devoted to understanding the world and its natural environment, societies and cultures through the practice of listening.
Week 10: Circle of Life
August 20 - August 24
Children will redo the most popular activities from the past weeks, which they will get to choose.
