1-Time-Only Spring Wine, Dinner Event Coming To Main Line Eatery

The popular Main Line spot is hosting a three-course wine dinner featuring Spire Collection Wines and spring-inspired menu items April 19.

A popular Main Line eatery is welcoming spring with a one-time-only dinner event that will offer seasonal dishes and wine pairings.

At 6:3o p.m. on Thursday, April 19, Nectar in Berwyn is hosting a three-course wine dinner featuring Spire Collection Wines and spring-inspired menu items.

The cost to attend is $175 per person (plus tax and gratuity), and reservations are required.

The diner event will open with a reception featuring several small plates created by Nectar Chef Patrick Feury, including a mamachi tartare with seaweed salad; truffle & mushroom potstickers; and cured fois gras and barbecue eel, all paired with a 2014 Galerie Sauvignon Blanc from Napa, California.

The first course is escargot, duck and fois gras with parsley and crème fraiche, paired with 2014 Capensis Chardonnay of Western Cape, South Africa.

The main course will feature roasted Pineland Farm tenderloin and Braised Short Rib with potato puree, ramps and morel mushrooms, paired with 2015 Gran Moraine Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley, Oregon.

And the finale features a citrus semolina cake with candied kumquats and grapefruit sorbet, paired with a 2012 Chateau Lassègue from Bordeaux, France.

"This dinner features different varietals from all over the world, and I’m super excited about the way each wine pairs perfectly with each dish," Feury said. "Sommelier Scott Zoccolillo and I determined dishes which fit the early spring season and complement the wines beautifully. The Spire Collection features some of the most celebrated wines in the world, so this is a wine lovers wine dinner."
