22 Great Valley Students Selected For Prestigious Music Honor

MALVERN, PA -- Great Valley High School students auditioned this past fall with musicians from Chester, Delaware, and Philadelphia counties for the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 12 Chorus, Band, and Orchestra Honors Ensembles.

Twenty-two Great Valley High School students were selected for 25 spots in the PMEA Honors Ensembles: 12 students were selected for district choir, 7 students for district band, and 6 for district orchestra.

Selected for District 12 Chorus are: Jordan Beck (12), Nichole Pennington (12), Alexandra Keane (12), Katherine Li (11), Erin McCarrick (12), Michaela Colahan (11), Benjamin Nurthen (11), Thomas Lock (11), Ryan DeStefano (11), Ari Pikounis (12), Nicholas Stillwell (11), and Maxwell Segarnick (10).

Selected for District 12 Band are: Alexis Pidany (11), Nate White (10), Hannah Atlas (10), Jonny Ford (12), Kira Ousey (11), John Passalis (11), and Wes Maloney (12).

Selected for District 12 Orchestra are: Evelyn Bravo (12), Jason Ren (11), Consuelo Le (10), Alexis Pidany (11), Hannah Atlas (10), and Wes Maloney (12).

Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) is an affiliate of the nearly 80,000 member National Association for Music Education (NAfME). PMEA is a service organization to music education in the Commonwealth. The membership includes those engaged in music instruction at all levels, from preschool through college and university, retired educators, as well as those in the music industry. In addition, students enrolled in music education may participate in collegiate chapters and secondary students may participate in Tri-M Honor Society. PMEA provides leadership in professional growth and offers special opportunities for musical development to school students. PMEA District 12 serves the music educators and students of Philadelphia, Delaware and Chester counties.
