58 Local Vietnam Veterans Honored By State Reps Milne, Kampf

As part of the National Defense Authorization Act, the Vietnam Veterans lapel pin was produced and is presented to veterans at these events.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP – State Reps. Warren Kampf and Duane Milne (R-167) hosted a pinning ceremony for 58 local Vietnam-era Veterans over the weekend in Tredyffrin Township.

The ceremony was held in partnership with the Veterans Association of Easttown and Tredyffrin Townships in Tredyffrin Township's Wilson Farm Park.

The ceremony, and others like it, are conducted under a provision of the 2008 National Defense Authorization Act, which establishes a program to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.

Through this legislation, a special Vietnam Veterans' lapel pin was produced and is presented to veterans attending these ceremonies.

Only United States veteran who served on active duty in any service of the US Armed Forces for any time during the period of November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975, regardless of station location, are eligible for the pins.

At Saturday's ceremony, 58 veterans were awarded a Vietnam Veterans lapel pin, a House Commendation from Representatives Kampf and Milne, recognition from the Veterans Association of Easttown and Tredyffrin, and a dinner donated by La Cabra Brewing in Berwyn.
